Blackheath Ladies
The ladies opening day for 2012 was a washout although a hearty group turned up and had a get together luncheon at the club.
Saturday 4th February was a GNSW Medal Round 1 with a club medal in conjunction. The winner was Carrie Soady (19) with78 nett from Leonie Simpson (23) with 80 nett. The best scratch score was also taken out by Carrie Soady along with the putting at 29 putts.Nearest the pin on the Vegie Patch 13th was taken out by Cindy Fitzgerald .Balls went to C.Soady,L.Simpson, D.Landsberg, C.Fitzgerald and J.O’Baugh .
Next Thursday the ladies play a single stableford sponsored by Sandra Draper and on Saturday also a single stableford sponsored by Louise Mathews.

Wednesday 1st February which is normal Midweek time was abandoned due to the weather and over 7 inches of rain rendering the course unplayable, hopefully, weather permitting the midweek Single Stableford and 2 Ball will resume on Wed 8th.

Saturday 4th February was Monthly Medal day on a damp and long track. The A grade was won by Graham Dowdell (11) with a great 62 nett ahead of Bill Pearce (12) on 65 nett. The B grade will be settled at the next medal between Bryan Marvin (16) and Tom Capel (19) both with 64 nett along with the C grade needing a three way playoff between Roger Howard-Smith (27), Andre Schuster (20) and Roy Najjar (28) all finishing on 68 nett. The scratch winners were Graham Dowdell with a fine 73, in B Grade Bryan Marvin with 80 and in C grade, Andre Schuster with 88. The B grade playoff resulted in a win for Tony Palmer over Mike Trim.Nearest the pin on the 2nd went to John Wood at 302 cms, on the 5th to Eddie Raets at 800 cms, on the 13th to Graham Dowdell at 285 cms and on the 17th to Graham Dowdell at 80 cms also picking up the Propin of $288. Balls went to 69 on a countback.
